Mission Statement:
The purpose of the organization known as HBT shall be to provide a healthy environment for the development of young people through the sport of competitive swimming by encouraging good sportsmanship, teaching stroke skills and techniques, and assisting in the development of strong healthy bodies, building self-confidence, self-esteem, discipline, and developing high ideals of character- attributes to benefit these young people throughout their entire life.

Here is a list (former and current) of HBT swimmers that qualified for the Bi-annual Hall of Fame banquet the weekend of October 3-5. For more information see the host team's link.

HBT 1st in Medium Team Division at SE Champs!
Congrats to the HBT swimmers that participated at the SE Championships this past weekend in Nashville. The team placed 1st in the meduim division (15-29 swimmers entered) and 9th overall. 41 teams and close to 900 swimmers attended the meet!
By far this was one of the best championships our swimmers have had based on improvement of times.
9 of the 20 HBT swimmers scored in individual events, with 3 more swimmers being part of scoring relays.
HBT swimmers
won 5 indidual titles:Nicolas Young (10) 50, 100 breast; Angelica Chapman (14)100, 200 fly and Peyton Clutts (10)- 50 back. Our 9-10 boys 200 medley relay was crowned champions (T. Whitehurst, P. Clutts, N. Young, J. Alfano).
Angelica scored in 6 events total; Leah Thornton (17) scored in all 6 of her events. Others scoring were: Peyton Cluttts (10)- 50, 100 fly, 50 back, 50 free; Claire Williamson (14)- 200, 400 free, 100 fly; Cameron Bass (18)- 400, 1500 free, 200 IM, 200 breast; Natalie Swindle (14)- 100, 200 fly; Finley Clutts (13)- 200 fly and Kreable Young (15)- 400, 800, 1500 free. 200 breast.
Helping on the relays were Sasha Zoller (13) and Tyler and Hunter (10)Whitehurst.
Top 16 times were recorded by Nicolas Young 50, 100 breast and Angelica Chapman in the 100 fly.
Team records broken were by Kreable Young -200 breast; Angelica Chapman - 200 fly; Peyton Clutts- 50 back; and Shelby Hall (13)- 800 free.
Special congrats to the following for having mostly personal best times (PB's): John Alfano (10)- 4-6; Cameron Bass 7-7; Olivia Butler (12)-5-7; Finley Clutts (13)- 4-7; Peyton Clutts (10)- 6-7; Shelby Hall (13)- 5-7; Jaimie Mans (9)- 7-7; Kaitlin Mans (12)- 4-7; Ali Smith (11)- 4-6; Nicole Smith (9)- 3-4; Hunter Whitehurst (10)- 4-6; Tyler Whitehurst (10)- 5-7; Claire Williamson (14)-6-7; Kreable Young (15)- 5-7 and Sasha Zoller (13)- 6-7.
In addition, based on their performances, swimmers Leah Thornton and Angelica Chapman were named to the SE Zone team which competes in Atlanta next week. Way to go gals!!! Also, Coach Jenell will be part of the Zone coaching staff. Congrats to Jenell, too!

Last Chance Meet
The Last Chance meet provided an oppotunity to get more SE qualifying times for some swimmers and a final tune-up for others. HBT swimmers faired well on both accounts.
16 new SE qualifying times were made, as well as many swimmers achieving season best times. In addition 1 new team record was established by Kreable Young (15) in the 200 breast.
New cuts: John Alfano (9)- 50, 100 back; Olivia Butler (12)- 200 IM; Finley Clutts (13)- 200 fly; Shelby Hall (13)- 200 breast, 200 fly; Vanessa Hughes (11)- 50 breast; Jaime Mans (9)- 50 fly, 50 breast, 100 free, 100 breast; Kaitlin Mans (12)- 200 free; Ali Smith (11)- 50 fly, 100 back and Tyler Whitehurst (10)- 50 fly.

NAC Summer Sizzler
The HBT swimmers faired very well this past weekend in Nashville. With teams from all across the midwest attending, many new faces were seen and raced against.
Angelica Chapman (14) was most successful by finaling in all 6 of her events, including wins in the 200 back and 100 fly. Angelica had personal bests in all of her swims.
Other HBT swimmers scoring were: Claire Williamson (14)with a 5th place in the 100 fly. Just missing a summer sectional cut by .04! Sasha Zoller(13) finaled in the 400 IM (7th) and 100 back (8th). Nicole Smith (9)- 15th 200 free; Kaitlin Mans (12)- 13th-400 free; Olivia Butler (12)- 14th- 400 free; Leah Thornton (17)- 16th-200 IM.
Securing new SE cuts were: Olivia Butler- 200, 400 free; Shelby Hall (13)- 200 IM, 100 free; Kaitlin Mans - 200 IM; Ali Smith (11)- 50 free; Nicole Smith- 200 free.

Baylor TYR INVITE
Very good showing by a small contigent of HBT swimmers. Several swimmers were event winners, including Angelica Chapman (14)- winning 8 events; Finley Clutts in his last 11-12 meet winning 7 events; brother Peyton (10) won the 50 free; Leah Thornton (17) won 3 events and had 6 runner-up finishes and Nicolas Young (10) won 3 events
Highlights include many new SE cuts- 19 total and 3 new team records!

Those swimming to the SE standards were:
John Alfano (10)- 50, 100 free; Olivia Butler (12)- 50, 100 back, 100 fly, 100 free; Peyton Clutts (10)- 50, 100 breast; Vanessa Hughes (10)- 50, 100 back; Allison Smith (11)- 50, 100 breast; Nicole Smith (8)- 100 back, 400 free; Hunter Whitehurst (10)- 100, 400 free; Tyler Whitehurst (10)- 200 IM, 400 free, 100 breast and Sasha Zoller (13)- 50 free.
Setting new team records were Finley Clutts (12) in the 200 free and the 13-14 girls 200 free and medley relays of Claire Williamson, Natalie Swindle, May Young and Sasha Zoller

Orange and Blue Meet- Clutts brothers lead the way!
Finley (12) and Peyton (10) Clutts led the HBT team to a very good showing in Auburn. Peyton was the high point winner in the 9-10 boys and brother Finley was runner-up in the11-12 boys age group! Finley broke 4 more team records (all his) in the meet. His best event was the 400 free with an exciting victory in 4:48.8! Smashing by 9 seconds the record he set 2 weeks proir. His other record swims were the 50, 100 fly, and 100 free.
Not to outdone- brother Peyton had 6 swims that were Top 3 finishes! He won the 50 fly and 100 free!
Swimmers achieving new SE LC standards were: Angelica Chapman (14)- 800 free; Peyton Clutts (10)- 200 free; Jamie Mans (9)- 50, 400 free; Kaitlin Mans (12)- 100 breast; Catherine Reinagel (18)- 200 back; Natalie Swindle (14)- 200 fly, 200 free; Hunter Whitehurst (10)- 100 back; Tyler Whitehurst(10)- 100, 200 free, 50 breast and Sasha Zoller (13)- 200,400 Im, 200 bk and 400 free.
Other swimmers getting high point trophies (only 12-unders) were: Nicole Smith (8)- 5th place; Jaime Mans (9)- 12th place; Tyler Whitehurst (10)- 9th place; John Alfano (10)- 13th place and Hunter Whitehurst (10)- 14th place
